Schedule an Inspection

Interactive Voice Reponses (IVR) and Interactive Web Response (IWR) Systems Are Now Available!

All inspections will need to be scheduled through IVR or IWR. Inspections received after 7 am will be inspected the next business day.

What is IVR? IVR is an easy-to-use system that allows you to use your telephone to schedule and cancel inspections, leave voice mail messages for the inspector with important detailed information regarding your inspection request, retrieve messages from the inspector regarding an inspection that was made, retrieve inspection results and history, and obtain plan review information. Information is available as a spoken message or a fax-on-demand document.

Using the IVR system Any touchtone telephone or cellular phone can be used to access the IVR System. The system is available 7 days a week from 5 am to 10 pm (system backup starts at 10 pm and takes several hours to complete.)

To access the system, dial (360) 619-1200. When the system answers, follow the voice prompts that will take you step-by-step through the process.

Pressing “0” at any time during the call during the regular work week will transfer you to a CDD staff member who will assist you in navigating the system.		 What is IWR? IWR is an easy-to-use system that allows you to use your computer and the internet to schedule and cancel inspections, leave messages for the inspector with important detailed information regarding your inspection
request, retrieve messages from the inspector regarding an inspection that was made, retrieve inspection results and history, and obtain plan review information.

Using THE IWR system Any computer with internet access can be used to access the IWR System. The system is available 7 days a week from 5 am to 10 pm (system backup starts at 10 pm and takes several hours to complete.) To access the system:

  • Go to iwrvancouver.cityofvancouver.us/webpermits
  • Enter the permit number, and
  • Click on the submit button.

    Click on the links on the page to schedule inspections, view inspection history or plan review status. Other options may also be available.

    • The permit number
    • The inspection code
    • Pen and paper to write down your confirmation number

    Permit Number

    The permit number is a three letter code followed by nine numbers (year and permit number) and is located at the top center of your permit. Example: COM2004-00001
