Electrical Permits of Record Available Online

As of April 1, 2010 Electrical Permits of Record are available for purchase online!!
Building Sub-trade Contractors - Obtaining Permits Online for Electrical (ELE), Mechanical (MEC), and Plumbing (PLB) Permits is now available!
Sub-trade contractors now have the opportunity to apply, purchase, and obtain permits online with a Visa or MasterCard.

Q: What types of applications can I apply for online?
You can apply for our simple permit types which are Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing.
Q: Who can apply for a permit online?
At this time only valid licensed State and Electrical Contractors can apply on-line. You must have a valid Electrical Contractors license or a State Contractors license.
We hope to open the process up to Home Owners sometime in the future.
Q: Where is Development Review Services located?
Development Review Services is located at 4400 NE 77th Ave, Vancouver, WA 98668
Q: What are the fees associated with the Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing permits?
You can go to the Vancouver Municipal Code for a complete fee schedule.
Q: How can I reprint my permit?
You can login to your account and go the “Check the status of a permit” link. After you pull up your permit using your name, address or permit number, you will see the Permit Re-print button at the bottom of the page.

Q: I paid my permit fee but it still shows as unpaid, what do I do?
Go to the check permit status page and enter your case number. It will then show your fees are paid and you can print your permit.
Q: What are the ePermitting Web site hours and your office hours?
We are available from 6:00 am until 10:00 pm.
Our offices are open from 8:00 to 5:00 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 9:00 to 5:00 on Wednesday.

Q: Can I schedule my building inspections from this Web site?
Yes, login to your account and then use the check status link, enter your case number and search. When your permit comes up you can then click on the Schedule Inspection link at the top of the page.
Q: What do I do with my permit once I print it?
You will need to post your permit on-site. The second page of your permit is the inspection card that the building inspector will need to sign off when performing the inspection.
Q: I have applied online but my request for a login has been denied what do I do?
Contact the permit center at 360-487-7815 or e-mail epermits@ci.vancouver.wa.us.

Yes, you can go to the home page and select the Check the status of a permit link, enter your case number and select the search button.

Q: On the Scope /Type of Work page what does *Type of Work mean?
Retro Fit: Replacing equipment-no change to the power source for example electric to electric or gas to gas.
Change out: Replacing Equipment-changing the power source for example electric to gas.
New: Adding new equipment that was never there before.
