The Agency on Aging present the Conference on Aging with keynote speaker Bob Blancato from 9 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. on Thursday, May 14 at Washington State University Vancouver in the Administration building, room 110.
This conference is a forum on the aging population in the urban and rural areas of Southwest Washington.
This event is free and open to the public. The number of participants is limited to 200. Register by May 8 via email to michekd@dshs.wa.gov or by phone to, Southwest Washington Agency on Aging and Disabilities at 360-735-5752.
In the 20 years from 2005 - 2025, the over-60 population in Southwest Washington is expected to more than double, making nearly one quarter of the area's population 60 or older. Learn from Blancato about the different opportunities and challenges created by the aging boom and what communities can do to prepare for them. Blancato is an expert in the fields of aging policies, having served on the Policy Committee and Executive Committee of the 2005 White house Conference on aging. The Southwest Washington Agency on Aging and Disabilities (SWAAD) is the federally designated agency on aging for the five Southwest Washington counties of Clark, Cowlitz, Klickitat, Skamania and Wahkiakum. It is one of 13 agencies on aging in Washington State and is part of the state and national network of area agencies on aging.
