Interpretive sign at Block 10

The City of Vancouver has extended its deadline for development proposals for Block 10 to Friday, July 29 at 3 p.m.

The sale of Block 10, a city-owned property at 811 Washington St., has generated considerable interest from developers and the City is now offering two weeks of additional time for proposal submissions.

The City would like to sell the property to a private developer for multi-story mixed use development. The Vancouver City Center Vision and Subarea Plan, developed in 2007, envisions housing or offices with a mix of active services on the first floor, such as restaurants, coffee shops, brew pubs, a grocery store or other retail.

Upon review of proposals, City Council will decide whether or not to sell the property based on how well the proposals meet the City’s vision.

The Block 10 Request for Proposals is available online at It includes details on incentives, the City’s vision, zoning restrictions, environmental conditions, appraisal and other relevant information about the property.
