Parking for Downtown Residents with No Garage or Driveway
Downtown residential parking program for residents in zones 1, 1A, 2 and 3 with no garage or driveway.
The primary objective of the downtown residential parking program is to provide long-term on-street parking for residents without a driveway or garage (includes personal and private or public parking structure) in zones 1, 1A, 2, and 3 for a vehicle currently registered in your name.
The free long-term permits are available to any individual resident in zones 1, 1A, 2 and 3 that meet the qualifications as outlined in the Vancouver Municipal Code 9.68.180, City Government, Municipal Codes, Title 9 traffic, Chapter 9.68, Section 9.68.180), without a driveway or garage (includes personal and private or public parking structure).
Permits are available at City Hall, 415 W. 6th St., rom 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Wednesday.
You will need to provide:
- Proof of residency, such as mail with your name, address, and postmark within the last 30 days
- Current picture identification, such as a driver’s license
- Copy of your current vehicle registration in your name
Downtown residential parking permits do not apply to:
- Loading zones
- Posted ‘No Parking’ areas
- Metered spaces, unless posted as meter and permit parking
- Illegal parking practices
Permits must be displayed to be visible for enforcement, either hung from the rear-view mirror or on the dashboard of the vehicle, and are only valid for the vehicle with the license listed on the permit.
