Vancouver Parking Services employee wins two photography awards

The two winning photos

This month, two photos taken by City of Vancouver Parking Enforcement Officer Dareen Thielbar received awards in a national photography contest held by The Parking Professional magazine, a publication of the International Parking Institute.

The winning photos are of a City-owned Park 'n' Go garage located in dowThe Parking Professional magazine - January issuentown Vancouver.

The contest had six categories, plus Best in Show. The close-up shot of the Park 'n' Go sign with the Smith Tower in the background won the "Beautiful" category and the photo of the garage wall covered in ivy won the "Nature" category.

Both photos appeared in January's issue of the magazine and Theilbar also received $50 credit at the International Parking Institute's online store.

Theilbar has worked for the City's Parking Services office for 11 years, serving as a Parking Staff Assistance and Maintenance Technician before becoming a Parking Enforcement Office in 2008. Dareen especially enjoys working outdoors and offering great customer service to the public. She is often the public "face" of the Parks Services office, often doing interviews for CVTV videos and talking to people she meets on the job.Parking Enforcement Officer Dareen Thielbar
