Saturday Community GreenFest

We're taking sustainability to the sidewalks and streets! Join us! 

Get ready for GreenFest, Vancouver's free community sustainability festival, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, July 12, along the Columbia River at Marine Park and the Water Resources Education Center, 4600 SE Columbia Way. Enjoy free workshops, activities, exhibits, displays, vendors, food, music and lively fun, designed to engage the entire family in healthy and smart  day-to-day sustainable practices. 

 

Mayor's Bike Ride

Start the day early at 9:30 a.m. with a 3-mile Mayor's Bike Ride from Vancouver Landing, near the Red Lion Inn at the Quay, along the Waterfront Renaissance Trail to Marine Park and the Water Resources Education Center to GreenFest. Once there, you’ll find a lot to do. Here's just a glimpse of the fun in store:

Main Stage at Marine Park
10 a.m. Ellis Jones, author of the Better World Handbook and Better World Shopping Guide and presenter at Friday's afternoon Sustainability Conference Commerce Session, offers advice on how to turn lofty ideals into practical actions. First 50 who arrive on bicycle will get a free Ellis Jones book. (One per family, please.)
11 a.m. One of a Kind Drumline, upbeat kids with an international drumming flair! 
Noon Junk to Funk Fashion Show with KINK FM emcee
2 p.m. Justin Klump Band, a new sensation!

More Outdoor Fun
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bike Rodeo for kids by the Vancouver Police Department
2 to 4 p.m. 9-mile Heritage Tree Ride with Urban Forestry guides, leaves from the Water Center  
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Variety of activities for kids, storytelling, vendors, food booths and more


Water Center
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Workshops and presentations to create more sustainable home, work and play, including bike laws and maintenance, natural gardening, close-by camping, weatherization tips and many other useful and helpful topics. 
1 to 3 p.m. Second Saturday fun for families

Do Your Part! Bring two cans of non-perishable food for the Clark County Food Bank when you come to GreenFest.

 

Be Sustainable! Please carpool, bike or hike to GreenFest. For those who need to drive, shuttles will be available to take you to and from designated parking areas where needed. The best parking is reserved for bicycles, whose riders need only use their claim ticket to collect their bike from the secure lot when done with GreenFest fun.
