Fort Vancouver
From 1825 to 1849, Fort Vancouver was the major fur trading post and regional headquarters for the Hudson's Bay Company. Supporting the fort were a sawmill, shipyard, and a large agricultural operation. After Hudson's Bay left, the U.S. Army established a post here. Today the site is managed by the National Park Service with programs and exhibits year-round.
