Public Works
We're keeping the community's streets swept and lighted brightly, parks spruced and mowed, drinking water clean and flowing, surface and ground water protected, streets constructed soundly, sewers functioning properly, environmental stewardship growing, and garbage and recycling collected regularly.
And much, much more.
Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, the Department of Public Works is making sure our community has the services it needs. We get the job done through our divisions of Construction Services, Engineering Services, Operations Center, Solid Waste Services and Water Resources Education Center.
Report service requests for street lights, traffic signals, catch basins and more.
We're improving customer options for utilities billing and other services, At Your Service!

Bad weather on the way? See our Public Works Severe Weather Response web pages to learn which streets get top priority for snowplows, what happens when garbage collections are delayed, how to be prepared for freezing temperatures, and more.
Remember the Arctic Blast of 2008? Though it is past, we've taken stock of what went right and where we can improve. Read the Public Works Director's Community Connections message after that major snow and ice event here. (Adobe Acrobat Reader required.)
