The City of Vancouver is seeking public input on a requested increase in the authorized per-mile rate for taxicabs from $2.30 per mile to $2.40 per mile. This rate increase was requested by Clark County-Vancouver Cab to offset claimed increases in operating costs.

Vancouver Municipal Code (VMC) Section 5.76.400 establishes maximum fares and initial authorized taxicab fare rates a taxicab company may charge.  The maximum per-mile rate set by City Council is $5 and the current authorized per-mile rate is $2.30.  The city manager or designate may adjust per-mile rate up to the maximum rate after seeking and considering public comment.

Written comments must be submitted by email or mail to the attention of the City Clerk no later than 5 p.m., Monday, Mar. 10, 2014.
