The Vancouver-Clark Parks and Recreation Department will open the doors of the new Firstenburg
Community Center in the summer of 2005. The Firstenburg Community Center, at 700 NE 136th Avenue
will be the City’s first full-service community center since Marshall Center was built in the 1960’s.
It will be a landmark facility, drawing families from all over the region to swim, play and pursue
fitness. It will also be a centerpiece for the east side of Vancouver – a “second living room” - where
residents will gather with their neighbors in the meeting, party, classroom, and recreational venues
the center will offer. We invite you to be a part of this new era in the future of Vancouver, and help
create the spirit of community this building will represent, by purchasing a one-foot-by-two-foot paver
inscribed with your name or the name of a loved one, to be placed on the terrace outside the
Firstenburg Center’s elegant Community Room. You will be supporting Parks and Recreation programs, and
making your mark on a facility which will serve generations over the years to come.
