How to Help

Help Us Count!
Let us know what you think about trails in our community. Take the Trail Survey.

Make-A-Difference Day Oct. 24th
Native Plantings in Arnold Park: Join the Vancouver Watershed Council in restoring the Burnt Bridge Creek Greenway by planting native trees and shrubs.

The Vancouver-Clark Parks and Recreation Department believes that public parks and recreation programs are essential to improving health, creating active, involved citizens, and building economic viability for our community. By providing quality local parks, trails, open spaces and recreational facilities, Vancouver-Clark Parks & Recreation encourages citizens to enjoy the benefits of good health, fitness, camaraderie, and community pride that come from these public amenities.

Public parks, trails, open spaces and recreation centers are valuable to everyone. Vancouver-Clark Parks & Recreation, with help from the Parks Foundation, strives to develop on-going partnerships, sponsors, and relations with donors so that all citizens have access to resources and programs. If you would like to help develop a strong parks and recreation system in your community, please consider one of the many opportunities to contribute, as described below. The Parks Foundation will help you discover the perfect way to match your wishes to the department's needs, ensuring that you make a positive difference in your community.

Giving Opportunities for Recreation Programs

The FunWagon
This program is 100% funded by donations - no City or County funds are being used. The FunWagon brings supervised, unstructured nature play to ten different parks in our community through the summer. Your donation will help keep the wheels turning on the FunWagon! See an informational video. Make your contribution today, to the Parks Foundation of Clark County, 360.693.7050.

Kids First After School Program
This program is offered at area elementary schools for children in grades K-5 to enjoy a free, fun and safe alternative during the hours after school is out and before parents are home from work. The program includes games, sports, art, snacks and more. Keep kids active and safe by contributing to this program. Contact the Parks Foundation contribution page and reference the "Kids First After School Program."

Everybody Plays Scholarship Program
Help provide a low-income family the chance to participate in recreational programs by contributing to the Everybody Plays! Recreation Scholarship fund - Contact the Parks Foundation contribution page and reference the "Everybody Plays Scholarship Program."

Access to Recreation
The Access to Recreation program enables people of all abilities to connect with others by discovering common interests through recreational programs. They learn life skills and gain confidence through dance, sports and crafts Contact the Parks Foundation contribution page and reference the "Access to Recreation Program."

Firstenburg Community Center Paver Sale
Have your name imprinted in brick on the outdoor terrace of the Firstenburg Community Center. Proceeds benefit the Everybody Plays Scholarship Fund.

Giving Opportunities for Parks, Trails and Open Spaces

Esther Short Park Bricks
Have your name or that of someone you wish to honor engraved in a brick in Esther Short Park. The engraved bricks are located around the bell tower in Propstra Square and are an excellent way to commemorate a loved one or friend. Proceeds from the sale of bricks benefit the Parks Foundation and maintenance of flowers in Esther Short Park.

Witness Tree program (Urban Forestry)
The Witness Tree program is both a memorial and an adopt-a-tree program that provides you with an opportunity to honor the memory of a special person or event by planting a tree in their remembrance. While honoring a memory you also enhance Vancouver and Clark County's urban forest and tree canopy.

Park Bench and Special Features Donation Program
Many of the special features you find in parks across Vancouver and Clark County, such as benches, play equipment, and picnic tables, have been developed with the generous support of partnering organizations and donors. We are always looking for partnerships and contributions to make your parks even better. Let our staff and partners at the Parks Foundation of Vancouver and Clark County find an opportunity for your support.
