Current Status
Preliminary park planning began in March 2008. The city mailed out the first newsletter and comment form to neighbors within a half mile of the park in late March 2008.
The neighborhood association applied for a Community Development Block Grant for planning and construction of curbs and sidewalks along the frontage of the park. No funding is currently available for park construction.

Project Description
This 2.15-acre park is located on the west side of NE 124th Ave. between NE 33rd Street and NE 35th Street. The existing undeveloped park property features open grassy area with large mature Douglas Firs and other trees. Only access is from 124th Avenue.
Public Participation
Major decisions about what the park will look like and what types of features it will have in it will be made during the planning and design process. Project staff relies on public participation to help guide this process. Your input helps us:
- Understand and respond to the needs and concerns of your neighborhood.
- Understand which park features are most important to you and your neighbors.
- Learn about the potential for community fundraising to add features to the park.
A newsletter and comment form was mailed out in late March 2008 to find out what neighbors want to see in their park.
Responses to the comment form will be used to help develop two or three concepts showing different ways the park might be developed. A public meeting will then be held to hear what neighbors like and dislike about each concept. Neighbors unable to attend the public meeting also will be able to provide feedback through this Web page.
The project team will then develop a proposed plan for the park based on public comments, the project budget and site requirements. A newsletter will describe the plan and ask for additional comments before it is presented to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission for approval.
April 2008 Public Meeting Material:
Additional comments on these 3 concepts will be accepted until June 30, 2008.
