League Guidelines
This information pertains to all leagues. Please read before registering.
Why do we do this? In order to make our leagues the best they can be. We need time to select
coaches, prepare teams, rosters and schedules, order equipment, hire staff, and schedule photos.
LEAGUES WILL FILL QUICKLY. Register at least one season in advance. With any questions, comments or concerns please call 487-7023 (east side) or 487-7083 (west side). Please do not wait until the end of a league.
- Cancellations/transfers and credits must be made ten working days prior to the league meeting date.
- All leagues are recreational and considered feeder programs into more competitive leagues
in the community. All children receive equal playing time at practices and games. If interested
in reviewing the game rules for a particular league, please contact the appropriate league coordinator.
- Registration deadline does not guarantee there will still be openings.
- Leagues can be CANCELLED five working days prior to league start date due to low enrollment.
- Individual and team spots cannot be saved without payment.
- We do not reserve spots in the leagues for past teams or players.
- When registering you may request a specific coach, or indicate if you would like your child to be
on the same team as a sibling or friend. Requests are not guaranteed.
- Volunteer coaches and assistant coaches are needed.
- Past coaches will not be notified each season and coaching spots will not be held. Parents interested in coaching must go through a coach's screening and a Washington State Background Check prior to registration. Each team needs a head coach and an assistant. The head coach's child (maximum one child) is not charged the league fee, but they must call the league coordinator to register as a coach.
- No team roster changes or switching players as of registration deadline.

- League coordinator makes final decision on adding players to teams. Children are placed on
teams as evenly as possible according to age, gender, and the number of children on each team.

be at the team meeting?" Child must play within age range.
- Mandatory meeting involves meeting the coach, covering league information, distributing
team rosters, schedules and t-shirts. You will not receive a reminder. Show up on date and
time listed in activity guide/flier or on your receipt. This is a meeting only, not a practice.
- Parent phone numbers are made available to the team.
- One-hour practice, one evening a week will be determined by gym/field availability and
the coach. Some leagues, ages seven and older, may practice two evenings during the week
prior to the first game. Parents may not have input regarding practice times and locations.
- A parent is
required to attend all practices and all games. Children cannot be dropped off.
- Each child may play in only one Vancouver-Clark Parks & Recreation league per season,
unless they choose to play in a weekday league and a weekend league.
