The community is invited to enjoy a special interactive musical performance of the Vancouver-Clark Parks and Recreation’s 50 and Better Senior Theatre Club at the Luepke Senior Center in Vancouver on Aug. 30 and 31.
This year, the Senior Theatre Club presents the “Antique Road Review 2013 – The Musical,” which features an interactive “yard sale” during the performance. The actors will perform a variety of popular songs from different eras while selling props related to each song to the audience, like pies and lemonade, car wash raffle tickets and even finding pets goods homes through Second Chance Pet Adoptions.
There will be two public performances of the musical at 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30 and at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31. Admission is $3 per person. The Luepke Senior Center is located next to Marshall Community Center, 1009 E. McLoughlin Blvd., Vancouver.
“Antique Road Review 2013 – The Musical” is created and directed by Janet Green, who has volunteered to direct the club’s annual productions for nearly ten years. This will be Green’s final performance as she heads to California for a well-deserved retirement later this year.
The 50 and Better Senior Theatre Club is open to all theater, song and dance lovers over the age of 50. The club meets once a week from early June to late August at the Luepke Senior Center and holds a public performance at the end of each summer.
