This winter and spring, the Marshall Community Center Pool will undergo the largest renovation in its 50+ year history. We expect the pool to reopen in early June 2017 in time for summer programming.
This is a living web page. As more project details become available (including photos of the pool's progress) we will update this page. Check back often!
We believe you will love the pool's transformation. The project will include a new pool deck and improved deck drainage, significant upgrades or replacement of all mechanical systems in addition to new gutters, ladders and other amenities. We'll also be constructing a new pool access hallway with individual and family changing rooms.
Maintaining excellent water quality is our highest priority. This renovation will allow us to better manage the pool's water while using fewer chemicals, creating a safer and more efficient facility.
Marshall Community Center Passholders are welcome to use the pool facilities at Firstenburg Community Center at no additional cost for the duration of the renovation. We are also offering limited early morning water exercise classes and lap swims at the Washington State School for the Blind (WSSB) which is just a couple blocks down the road from Marshall. This is at no cost for passholders! These classes will begin on Wednesday, January 4, 2017.
The pool renovation will NOT affect other areas of the building; lockers rooms, fitness center, gymnasium, pottery studio, Teen SPOT and other rooms will be open throughout the project. We're offering new group exercise options during this time but for those who'd rather wait the project out passes can be put on hold for the duration of the pool renovation.
The Marshall Pool was built in 1965 along with the first phase of the community center. We're proud of the 50+ years of providing fun family fitness. This project will prepare us for another 50 years of service to the community.
