Our Philosophy

Children will make new friends, discover new interests, reinforce positive identity, leadership, teambuilding, good decision making and strong values through participation in sports, games, crafts, interactive presentations, field trips and other structured and unstructured activities.

Little Campers

Ages 4-6. Little Campers is held Monday-Friday from 9am-Noon at the Firstenburg Community Center. Have fun with games, sports, music, crafts and activities that are centered on the theme for the week. Class held in the Special Events Room with daily time in the gym/outdoors.1:7 child staff ratio. Space is limited. Must be age 4 and toilet trained. Camp is geared toward pre-school up through kindergarten students. Weekly Fee: $70/$80

SPARK Day Camp

Ages 6-10. SPARK Youth Day Camp - Sports, Physical Activities and Recreation for Kids! Have your child connect with nature and their day camp friends in a fun and creative way with Vancouver Parks and Recreation Youth Day Camps! During camp kids will engage in recreational activities, games, outdoor adventures and field trips that will reinforce a healthy lifestyle, positive identity, leadership, teambuilding, good decision making and strong values. Structured camp activities are from 9am-4:30pm, but parents may drop off as early as 7:30am and pick up by 6pm. Weekly Fee: $156/$179

Summer Adventures Day Camp

Ages 6-10. Your child will make new friends, discover new interests, reinforce positive identity, leadership, teambuilding, good decision making and strong values. Campers will enjoy swimming, crafts, sports, games, and one field trip per week. Structured activities are 9am-4pm, but parents may drop off as early as 7am and pick up by 5:30pm. Weekly Fee: $156/$179

Sensory Camp

Ages 5-11. This camp is for elementary aged children with autism, sensory disorders, and other special needs who need an atmosphere tailored to their needs. We maintain higher staff to participant ratios so that every child is successful and has a fun time! Field trips will be taken once a week. Class size is limited. Funding for the Sensory Camp program is primarily derived from grants and donations and therefore the number of sessions offered and/or length of the program day is subject to change dependent on the funding level achieved. However, it is VP&R’s intent to offer the full duration of sessions and camp days. For information on how to support Sensory Camp, please call 487-7060. Weekly fee: $180/$207

Mini Sport/All Sport Half Day Camps

Learn sports fundamentals while having fun. Be sure your child has eaten prior to camp and have them bring a water bottle. Dress them appropriately for the cooler weather if necessary. Tennis shoes are recommended. All camps are co-ed unless otherwise noted. Ages 3-4 camps require parent/guardian participation. All Sport camps may include flag football, soccer, basketball, kickball and baseball/T-ball.

UK Elite Soccer Camp and Soccer School

Soccer Camp: Co-ed. Ages 5-8. Soccer School: Co-ed. Ages 8-14. Players just starting out in soccer or looking to take the next step in their development will enjoy this camp. UK Elite as the ‘leaders in youth soccer education’ offer the best possible professional training for players. UK Elite will use their ‘Global Training Curriculum’ to develop players in age specific groups. Every player that attends the camp will enjoy a fun and educational soccer experience. The Soccer Camp will focus on technical and skill development, whilst the Soccer School will introduce tactical development in small sided games, as well as focusing technical skills. Each day ensures that players learn the latest training techniques from the world’s leading soccer nations, and includes daily World Cup tournaments, allowing the players to put those new found skills into practice. The UK Elite coaches are professional instructors from the UK who are highly trained and motivated to develop youth soccer players. Inclusion means everyone plays!

If you are interested in an Inclusion accommodation for your child (such as an Inclusion Mentor), please follow the steps below to make a request. Requests must be made 10-business days before the program start date. If you have questions about Inclusion accommodations, please call the Inclusion Services office at 487-7057.

Step 1: Register for the program of your choice
Step 2: Complete the Inclusion Intake Form (Must be completed once a year)
Step 3: Notify the Inclusion office of the program you registered for each time you do a new registration. Accommodation requests must be made 10 working days prior to the start of the program.
