Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC) and Pursuit Intervention Tactics (PIT)
The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) and the Clark County Sheriffs Office (CCSO) will be hosting the annual Southwest Regional Emergency Vehicle Operation Course (EVOC) and Pursuit Intervention Tactics (PIT) training beginning October 13, 2014.
EVOC/PIT training dates are: October 10 (just added), 17, 18, 20, 24, 25, 27, 28, 31 and November 1, 2, 3 & 4, 2016. The training will be 3-hours in length and will include classroom, placement course, autocross course, SKID CAR, speed skill course (track), and PIT qualification.
The fee for this year's training is $250 per officer scheduled. Please be advised that agencies will be billed for all slots that are reserved regardless of whether the scheduled officer attends or not, if not canceled 48-hours in advance of the scheduled session. If you need to cancel or reschedule an Officer please e-mail Carie Wright at Carie.Wright@cityofvancouver.us. If an Officer is unavailable to attend his/her assigned session another Officer can be substituted without notifying VPD.
It has been suggested that you check with your Risk Management or Cities Insurance Company as they might reimburse you for all or a portion of this training cost. It is considered preventative training.
