Basic PIT

Building Blocks of Supervision

Target Audience: All City staff that have a supervisory or lead person role or those wanting to enhance their skills for promotional opportunities. VPD Personnel fill out city application, attach to Training Request Form, Police Travel Authorization form, and Training Matrix, then forward up your chain of command.

Courtroom Testimony

The course is designed to give the officer a better understanding of what to expect when it comes time to testify.

Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC)

Regional Annual EVOC Training - This Course is for Law Enforcement Only. This year’s course will be 3 hours in length and will include classroom, placement course, autocross course, speed skill course (track).

Emotional Survival for Public Safety, First Responders, & Emergency Medical Personnel

The course addresses the dynamics of public safety, emergency services, or medical career. We enter our jobs as idealistic and committed employees and along the way have to find ways to avoid becoming cynical, angry and self destructive. Some of us even become “self-perceived victims” of our agencies or employers. Dr Gilmartin provides critical information to personnel on how this process might take place with preventive strategies on how to remain committed productive employees.

Leadership in Challenging Times

This leadership program is a principled-based program with precise, clear-cut directions to provide you with the necessary tools to fulfill your day-to-day leadership role. Critical Leadership for the New Supervisor infuses academic leadership principles into the self-need to break through old habits. If you are a New Supervisor, it is Mike’s hope to make an investment into your leadership capital and if you are an experienced leader, he hopes to share some fresh perspectives of the evolution of leadership.
