The Water Resources Education Center facility is an award-winning two-story brick building with large windows and expansive deck overlooking the Columbia River and nearly 50 acres of wetlands. The Water Center covers 16,000 square feet, which contains an exhibit hall, classrooms, a spacious community room with kitchen, aquaria and offices.
A natural wildlife garden graces our grounds, providing our visitors with examples of earth-friendly landscaping practices that can be replicated and enjoyed in their own backyards. Just a short walk away, our wetland waterfront with a 3,000 square foot viewing platform offers visitors an opportunity to view one of the few remaining natural Columbia River riparian areas in the Vancouver-Portland Metro region. These vital wetlands are under the stewardship of the Water Center.
A dedicated staff oversees and operates the Water Center’s many exhibits, events and educational offerings, as well as volunteer stewardship and intern opportunities.
