Loaves & Fishes Centers, in an effort to provide fresh produce and reduce food costs, has planted several large gardens throughout the metro area.

The largest garden, located at the 78th Street Garden in Vancouver, is more than an acre.

Leadership Clark County will host a candidate forum at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 8, at Clark College’s Gaiser Hall, featuring candidates running for the open seat in the U.S. 3rd Congressional District. The event is free and open to the public.
Candidates will be asked nonpartisan questions which are being developed by Leadership Clark County (LCC) and the Clark College Political Science department; the candidates will not receive the questions in advance. “Election season is heating up,” says Temple Lentz, LCC board member, who is co-chair of the event with fellow board member Troy Van Dinter. “U.S.

Representative Brian Baird’s retirement leaves a rare undefended federal seat,” she adds. “This may be Clark County’s best—if not only—opportunity to hear all of the candidates at a single event before the Primary.”
