This is Household Hazardous Waste
Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) comes in may shapes and sizes. The usual suspects such as pesticides, herbicides, paints, automotive fluids, cleaners and thinners are mostly liquid, but a product does not have to be liquid to be hazardous. Many HHWs appear to be solid or may be powders. Some examples are household batteries (ni-cad, rechargeable and lithium), expired or unwanted prescription medication, sharps (hypodermic needles, syringes with needles attached, scalpel blades, etc.), fluorescent bulbs and tubes, and mercury thermometers. On designated days, all HHW may be disposed of FREE of charge at any (with the exception noted) of these three facilities.
