Parking Reservations
The City of Vancouver offers multiple options for long term parking in the downtown parking district. For projects that require extended use or specific access to certain parking spaces, a Parking Reservation can be requested.
Some uses including but not limited to road closures, construction, moves and special events may require a Parking Reservation in order to minimize public inconvenience and maintain accessibility downtown.
Reservation Application Process
1.) Choose Parking Space(s)
Parking Reservations are based on specific parking spaces. Please use the Interactive Parking Map to view available parking spaces. Specific spaces will need to be communicated to parking staff as part of an application.
2.) Parking Reservation Application
Applications are accepted on a first-come first-serve basis. Please fill out the Parking Request Form. Once the form has been submitted, the request will be reviewed by parking staff who will notify you of next steps. All requests should be submitted a minimum of 21 days prior to the start of the reservation.
3.) Reservation Agreement
Applicants with approved requests will be emailed the Parking reservation agreement. This will summarize the dates, locations, and parking spaces that were requested as well as the associated fees. Once you confirm the contents are correct, you will be emailed payment information.
4.) Make Payment
Payment can be made in person or virtually. Details will be provided once the Parking reservation agreement is completed. Reservations are not complete until both the agreement and payment have been confirmed by staff.
5.) Reservation Posting
Once the application process is complete and payment has been confirmed, parking staff will post signs reserving the spaces for the exclusive use of the reservation holder. All vehicles parked in the reservation must display dashboard permits issued as part of the application process.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to make a parking reservation?
No, reservations aren’t required, but they’re the easiest way to park for the day. Without a reservation, you may pay at a pay station, but only for the posted time limit—you can’t extend your stay by paying for more time. After that time, you’ll need to move your vehicle, failure to abide by the posted regulations may lead to citation. With a reservation, you can pay once for the entire day and not have to move your vehicle.
Which parking spaces in the city require a reservation?
In downtown Vancouver, all regulated parking spaces—those with a posted time limit or pay to park—require a reservation. This includes weekdays and weekends. Loading zones may also be reserved, but those requests are reviewed and approved on a case-by-case basis
Can parking be reserved for personal use?
No, parking reservations can be made for projects like moving, construction, or events. Reservations cannot be made exclusively for personal or employee parking.
Can I get a refund for my reservation?
Refunds may be available for unused reservation days. Reservations are made by the day (not by the hour or half-day). Partial refunds are not available if you end your parking early or don’t use the full time.
