Join us for the first event in the Resilience Rising series—a family-friendly gathering focused on building climate resilience in the Mountain View neighborhood. The City of Vancouver, Fourth Plain Forward, Washington Conservation Action and the Southwest Washington Equity Coalition are co-presenting this event.
We’ll provide free food, engaging presentations and hands-on group activities. Whether you’re curious about what climate change means for your community or you want to help shape local preparedness efforts, this event is for you. All ages welcome.
What to expect
- An overview presentation introducing the City’s climate vulnerability assessment and what kind of impacts a changing climate will have on the Fourth Plain Corridor.
- Breakdown of major climate hazards facing the neighborhood — including wildfire risk, extreme heat, flooding, and air quality issues — and strategies for preparing for these risks in the future.
- Guest speakers sharing stories and insights about local food systems, ecosystems and community placemaking.
- Small-group discussions where you’ll talk with neighbors about the resources you rely on during climate events, brainstorm how to support one another, and explore forming a neighborhood resilience network.
