City public records request form (online)
The City of Vancouver DOES NOT provide police reports, birth, death, marriage, divorce, property or court records. To obtain these types of records, you must contact Clark County (see below).
Please note that electronic copies of many current and historic city, county and state records are available immediately on the Washington State Digital Archive website.
City-held public records include City department, program, committee/commission/board or staff email and paper and electronic files; and official City records such as ordinances, resolutions, staff reports, City Council meeting minutes, the Vancouver Municipal Code (VMC), and other related documents that have been acted upon by the Vancouver City Council.
To get printed copies of these types of public records, complete a Public Records Request form and return it to the address provided on the form or submit the form online. The price and time necessary to produce the records varies according to the volume.
Police Reports from the Vancouver Police Department are NOT held by the City. They are processed and filed by the Clark County Sheriff's Office. To request a police report, you must call (360) 397-2211 during regular business hours.

Marriage licenses and records are NOT processed or held by the City. To find out how to request a copy of a marriage license, please visit the Clark County Auditor's Office marriage licensing website at www.clark.wa.gov/auditor/marriage.html.
Court records are NOT processed or held by the City. To learn how to obtain court records, including divorce records, please visit the Clark County Clerk's Office website at www.clark.wa.gov/courts/clerk/access-records.html.
Property records are NOT processed or held by the City. To obtain property records, please visit the Clark County GIS website at http://gis.clark.wa.gov/gishome/property/.
