Public Records

Public records include official city records such as ordinances, resolutions, staff reports, city council meeting minutes, the Vancouver Municipal Code (VMC), and other related documents that have been acted upon by the Vancouver City Council.

To get printed copies of Public Records, complete a Public Records Request form (below) and return it to the address provided on the form. The price and time necessary to produce the records varies according to the volume.

Birth, death records, marriage, divorce and property records are held by Clark County, not the City of Vancouver. See "Web Links" below for more information on those records.

Court records are also under the jurisdiction of Clark County.

Police Reports from the Vancouver Police Department are processed and filed by the Clark County Sheriff's Office. For more information, call 360-397-2211.

Electronic copies of many current and historic city, county and state records are available immediately on the Washington State Digital Archive website.
