City Manager update: July 2025

Partnerships fuel progress on Bridge Shelter
Addressing homelessness remains one of the City’s most urgent priorities, and opening a Bridge Shelter is a key step forward. When complete, it will offer up to 120 beds and provide critical services like case management, housing assistance and options for medication-assisted treatment support that will help people transition out of homelessness and into stability.
We’re making real progress, thanks to the support of some incredible partners. Clark County recently contributed $4.85 million to the project and PeaceHealth awarded us an $800,000 Community Health Improvement Plan Grant to help build a commercial-grade kitchen. That kitchen won’t just nourish shelter residents—it will help create opportunities for job training and connection.

We’re also proud to share that the City accepted a $1.9 million grant from the Ed and Dollie Lynch Fund, Community Foundation of Southwest Washington. This will fund up to eight new limited-term positions on our Homeless Assistance and Resources Team (HART), which will provide outreach and help guide people into the shelter once it opens.
These partnerships are what make lasting changes and real progress possible.
