Guided by Water Center educators and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service volunteers, we’ll take a leisurely sunset stroll along the Columbia River, learning about the unique features that make great bat habitat. Using bat detectors, we’ll listen for the high-frequency calls of these fascinating nighttime creatures and discover more about their role in the local ecosystem. Guided by Water Center educators and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service volunteers, we’ll take a leisurely sunset stroll along the Columbia River, learning about the unique features that make great bat habitat.

Using bat detectors, we’ll listen for the high-frequency calls of these fascinating nighttime creatures and discover more about their role in the local ecosystem.

This program is geared for adults and youth ages 6 and older. Be prepared to walk up to 2 miles on a mix of paved trails, unpaved paths, and sandy, uneven beach terrain. Please leave flashlights at home to preserve the twilight atmosphere and experience walking in the dark.
