City Hall Field Trip

Thank you for your interest in a school field trip to City Hall. We will begin accepting first come, first served field trip reservation requests for the 2023-24 school year.

Planning your visit

  • Field trips to City Hall are free of charge and scheduled first come, first served.
  • Field trip duration varies, most programs are approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours. 
  • We can accommodate a maximum of 3 classes/day (with the same start time).

Chaperone to student ratios:

  • Kindergarten to Grade 5: 1 adult per 5 students
  • Grades 6-8: 1 adult to 10 students
  • Grades 9-12: 1 adult to 15 students
What to expect

What to expect

Field trip itinerary may vary depending on the City Hall schedule. Itinerary may include:

  • Meet the Mayor
  • Tour of City Hall
  • Learn about City Hall Operations from City staff
  • Tour of City Council Chambers 
  • Information and explanation about Vancouver’s City Sister City, Joyo, Japan
