City to repurpose unused grant funds for programs supporting low-income community members

March 25, 2024

The City of Vancouver has proposed changes to its Annual Action Plan for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) federal grant program. The changes outline how the City will repurpose unused or canceled grant awards to support programs benefiting low-income community members.

Proposed changes will provide new or additional funding for:

  • Council for the Homeless building acquisition for homeless services ($300,000)
  • Family Solutions Integrated Health Center improvements (added $25,000 to the $250,000 award)

Vancouver’s CDBG and HOME programs are federally funded initiatives overseen by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Annually, the City is awarded this funding to support projects and programs that directly benefit community members experiencing challenges related to low income.

Review all proposed changes to the City of Vancouver 2022 and 2023 Action Plan.  The community is invited to submit comments on these changes through 5 p.m. Thursday, April 11.
