Frequently asked questions
Does it cost extra to use Parking Kitty?
You will be charged a 10-cent transaction fee for each parking session if you use Parking Kitty. If you don’t want to pay the fee, you can still pay to park using coins or credit/debit cards at the pay stations or parking meters like usual.
Can I use Parking Kitty to “feed the meter” and extend my parking session?
Parking Kitty doesn’t allow you to pay to park for more than the time period posted on the signs for your block (2-hour, 3-hour, 5-hour, etc.), but you can extend your parking session remotely from your phone if you haven’t already paid for the entire time allowed.
For example, if you only paid for one hour in a 2-hour parking area using Parking Kitty, you can extend your parking session by the remaining hour using the Parking Kitty app.
How will parking enforcement officers know I paid with Parking Kitty?
The transaction information is automatically sent to the City’s parking enforcement officer’s electronic hand-held ticketing devices.
I paid for parking using Parking Kitty but still got a ticket. What should I do?
The Parking Kitty app provides receipts to users whenever they use the app. Simply follow the appeal instructions described on the back of your parking ticket and provide the City with your Parking Kitty receipt for the day/time in question. If the ticket was issued in error, it will be dismissed.
