Fire Hydrant Water – Temporary Access
If an individual or business wishes to use water temporarily from a public fire hydrant, they must apply for an authorized hydrant meter and permit. Otherwise, individuals and businesses may not connect to and take water from a public fire hydrant.
Review the City’s current hydrant meter policy.
The need for water from a fire hydrant is divided into two categories. Permits and associated fees are:
- Short-term Usage: For usage of less than 15 calendar days
- Long-term Usage: For usage of more than 14 calendar days, but no longer than six (6) months
You will need to complete the Hydrant Meter Customer Agreement and Billing form. Please then submit by email to hydrants@cityofvancouver.us.
