Students at Once: 2
Equipment List
- Medical supplies
- Bandages
- Tourniquet
- Gauze
- Etc.
- Blue guns
- Fake blood spray
- Bluetooth speaker
Overall Plan
The scenario will involve a building search with an initial civil find at the bathroom. The search will then continue further into the building, where there will be a bite suit find in a dark, concealed area.
A “K9 Yelp” will be emitted from a speaker when the dog is out of the handler’s view and near the decoy wearing the bite suit.
Once the canine engages the decoy, the decoy will spray fake blood on the canine before the handler comes into view.
Because the handler was unable to see the canine and heard the yelp, the handler should conduct a blood sweep of their canine and locate the blood.
The handler should then explain their plan for getting the canine medical care. The scenario involves a minor laceration injury that was not caused by the suspect, but rather by the environment.

- Eye protection
- Orange carabiners
- School/playground signage (large/loud)

Overall Plan
Track from a vehicle for a robbery suspect (physical assault with injury, no weapons mentioned). The direction of the track is heading towards a school/playground area hence the urgency to initiate the track. This is a stranger on stranger crime and unprovoked assault therefore they are a danger to the public immediately. The suspect can also be stated to have been called in about an hour prior trying to attack another random citizen to increase urgency. They get one cover officer, can be Haigwood or TEMS person with SIMS. The handler will see the suspect headed towards the school/playground and will deploy the canine hopefully to prevent access through opening. The decoy will present a hidden knife just prior to the canine contact and begin to stab at the canine. Handler should make proper decision regarding proper use of force for the situation and should not close up distance to create a lethal threat. They should then walk through their plan for extraction to a vet. If possible attempt to affix a makeshift muzzle and apply pressure then carry canine to an extraction location that they told someone to drive their vehicle to and provide the name of the emergency trauma vet they would transport to in their own jurisdiction.
