I-5 Rose Quarter Improvement Project

All southbound lanes of I-5 will close beginning September 11 for up to five weeks as part of the Oregon Department of Transportation’s (ODOT) I-5 Rose Quarter Improvement Project in Portland. Southbound I-5 will be closed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from I-405 to I-84.

I-5 southbound travel will be detoured to I-405. Regional traffic is expected to use the Glen Jackson Bridge/I-205.

ODOT predicts that travel times may be two to three times longer than usual. Congestion could back up across the Columbia River into Washington, affecting Vancouver residents, businesses, and visitors who rely on this critical route to reach Portland and points beyond.

 

Washington Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will deploy strategies to help ease traffic flow in the Vancouver area.

C-TRAN will change routes to accommodate additional commuters during the closure.
