Water Resources Education Center

Welcome to the Water Center!

Whether exploring our Website or visiting our beautiful facility overlooking the Columbia River in Vancouver, you'll find a world of information designed to inspire us to become better stewards of our water resources. Teaching people of all ages how to wisely use this important, life-giving natural resource is what Vancouver's Water Resources Education Center is all about.

Critter Count

Saturday, April 12, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Search for and identify critters! Begin with a brief training session at 9 a.m. at the Water Center, and then assist with field surveys of amphibians and reptiles at the 14th Annual Critter Count.

Second Saturday - New Live Critter Show

April 12, 1 to 3:30 p.m.
The critter fun continues at the Water Center when visitors have an opportunity to view snakes, lizards and other reptiles up close. For the first time, the Water Center welcomes Brad’s World Reptiles with two live critter shows, starting at 1 p.m. and again at 2:15 p.m. Learn about all sorts of reptiles – some you could find in your own backyard and some more unique critters.

Remember: New Saturday Hours

Starting in 2014, the Water Resources Education Center will have new operating hours on Saturday. The facility will be open from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturdays. We will remain open the regular hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday.
