Engineering – Solid Waste Checklist
This checklist is the same for both Standard and Concurrent Reviews.
Plan Review
Site Plan
- Solid waste storage area details including:
- Dimensions
- Screening
- Gates or Doors
- Roof or Cover (if applicable)
- Intended receptacle and equipment footprints (use Solid Waste Access & Design Standards for receptacle footprints)
- If receptacles must be rolled to street level for servicing, show curb ramps.
- Include any intended receptacle staging and set-out locations.
Solid Waste Truck Turning Movements
- Truck maneuvering designed to City Transportation Development Review Standards
- Truck turning must show site ingress and egress and all other on-site maneuvering needed to service receptacles.
- Trucks must be able to access each receptacle without backing into public streets and with minimal on-site backing (less than 50 feet).
- Front Loader Truck (use for wheeled dumpsters and stationary containers)
- Side Loader Truck (use for roll carts)
- Roll-off Truck (use for compactors and drop boxes)
- Alley Truck (use only when directed by Solid Waste staff)
- Mini-Packer (use only when directed by Solid Waste staff)
- If site will be serviced using roll carts and wheeled dumpsters or roll carts and stationary containers, use Side Loader Truck.
